Welcome to our 6th grade Science and 7th grade English RAM Wiki!

This wiki is our central meeting place to plan and discuss assignments throughout the school year. Check back regularly to review any new announcements, review the syllabus, get tips from the study guides, and ask a question for other students or the instructor. Don't forget to see who's in the Student Spotlight this week!

Internet class rules:
1. No first and last names on the wiki. Please do not ever refer to each other by first and last name. You may use first names with initial of the last name (ie. SusieQ)
2. We must use our wiki for class purposes. This means that material that is not included in our class instruction needs to be posted on personal accounts rather than our class site (follow your parental guidleines on internet usage before you create personal accounts). If you have a question about what to post please send me a message and I will respond.

Welcome RAMS!

I graduated with my Master's in Education and am looking forward to starting my PhD program. I am also ESL certified and enjoy working and learning from the diversity of our students. Yes...I am attempting Spanish. Seems like it would be easy but as your children will tell you my Spanish is a long way from fluent.

My teaching philosophy:
I want my children to understand the world, but not just because the world is fascinating and the human mind is curious. I want them to understand it so that they will be positioned to make it a better place. Knowledge is not the same as morality, but we need to understand if we are to avoid past mistakes and move in productive directions. An important part of that understanding is in knowing who we are and what we can do...Ultimately, we must synthesize our understandings for ourselves. The performance of understanding that try matters are the ones we carry out as human beings in an imperfect world which we can affect for good or for ill. (Howard Gardner 1999: 180-181)
